About Us

Jews Say No! engages in community education, street theatre, and organizing. We make our voices heard in Jewish communities and as partners in the broader movement for justice in Palestine/Israel.

Our leaflet describes why we stand each month with our signs on the Upper West Side of Manhattan:

96 Street

Dear Neighbors:

We are Jews who oppose Israeli governmental policies toward Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and in Israel itself.   We started our organization, Jews Say No! in the winter of 2009 because:

  • The Israeli government claims to speak for all Jews but does not speak for us.
  • The latest news from Israel and Palestine grows grimmer by the day. Why?

It is not only because of the occupation of Palestine, which is illegal and immoral.

It is not only because Palestinians inside Israel are third-class citizens.

It is not only because the “peace process” is dead.   It is all of this, but it is more.

These four maps go to the heart of the problem, illustrating the 70-year process by which the Palestinian people have had their land and homes taken from them.

An occupied people have a natural impulse and a right to fight for their freedom.

Learn, read, discuss, think!

We’ll see you again soon in our neighborhood.
